Front Counter Safety Training and Audits

Often staff will have no idea what the member of public is coming for or what 'issue' they may want to discuss.

CERT's Front Counter Safety Training courses will provide particpants with the knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe while effectively and professionally engaging with members of the public within a front counter / reception area.
 

We also offer front counter area audits and recommendations on how to design and improve your reception areas to enhance the safety of your frontline staff.

Participants will develop knowledge and skills in a range of areas including:

• How to develop a 'situational safety mindset'
• The first rule of dealing with the public
• Obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act and how safety is everyones responsibility
• The importance of and how to improve 'situational awareness'
• Principles of tactical communications to enhance their communications effectivess generally
• The law around Trespass
• How to effectively manage difficult people using the AWOCA process
• How to position themselves in any setting or environment to maximise their safety
• How to safely withdraw from an unsafe situation / aggressive person

Many of the skills participants will learn on this course will enhance their safety and communications effectiveness in ALL aspects of their lives, professional and personal.
