In addition to the KR1 (Knife Resistant Level 1) vests, PPSS also offer a range of KRB (Knife Resistant Basic) level vests. These vests feature 3mm protective panels, compared with 5mm panels on the KR1 vests. These vests still offer a high level of protection against edged / blunt weapons at a lower price (due to them not having to go through the KR1 certification process).
