BOLA WRAP

BOLA WRAP is a remote restraint device that enables officers to safely and more humanely restrain a non-compliant person.

BOLA WRAP enables officers to maintain a safe distance from a person, which provides them time to communicate while assessing their options in terms of safely resolving the incident.

If required, BOLA WRAP can be deployed from up to 8 metres distance, 'wrapping' the persons arms and/or legs to enable officers to then move in and complete the restraint proceedure (handcuffing etc).

BOLA WRAP does not rely on pain compliance. It simply restricts a persons ability to use their limbs which enables officers to more safely and humanely control the person and where necessary, get them the help they may need.

BOLA WRAP was specifically designed to assist officers dealing with people who were experiencing mental health issues.

Of course BOLA WRAP can be used on anyone who needs restraining for whatever reason.

BOLA WRAP should be an essential piece of equipment for anyone who may need to restrain a person for any reason.

If you carry a set of handcuffs, you should definately carry a BOLA WRAP device!

As any officer will attest, it is very 'challenging' to handcuff a person who doesnt want to be handcuffed. Often such situations result in injuries to both the person and the officer(s) due to the level of force required to overcome the resistance of the person.

BOLA WRAP solves this problem by enabling the person to be initially restrained / contained thereby limiting the amount of resistance they can offer which in turn reduces the amount of force officers need to use to apply handcuffs.
