Extendable Batons/Bite-sticks

CERT is proud to be the exclusive agents for the Rapid Containment Baton or Bite-stick (RCB). The RCB is the ultimate in extendable baton technology, design and manufacture.

One of the primary uses of a baton is that of a deterrent – i.e. that simply presenting the baton will deter an attack without it needing to be actually used. With its large size, the RCB provides the ultimate in deterrent value. RCB's are avaliable in 21' (53cm) and 24' (60cm) lengths.

The main advantages the RCB are;

Machined Strike Tube - The RCB is the only expandable baton with “Machined” Strike tubes. All other expandable baton manufacturers start with small tubes then “form and flare” the joint. 

The RCB starts with a larger diameter strike tube, which is then “machined or milled” for the entire length of the primary strike tube on a computerised lathe, maintaining the same wall thickness from the tip of the tube, all the way through the joint of each baton. This makes the batons stronger than other baton manufacturers that start with a thin wall and stretch the steel, which creates a thin and weak tube wall.

Distal Weighting - The weight of the RCB is distributed in the distal half (striking area) of the baton instead of in the handle. This provides rapid stopping power and less energy to achieve a higher impact.

Larger Friction Lock - The RCB features the largest friction lock of any expandable baton which reduces inadvertent collapsing.

Larger Diameter Tubes - High quality, 3/4" “machined” steel that will not bend like other batons – even when striking the toughest targets (laminated glass etc). This also provides a much stronger and safer means to block an attack from an impact weapon such as a piece of wood / softball bat etc.

Large End Cap - The large flat end cap is made from hardened steel. This enables the baton to be expanded (opened) by hand in a confined space such as a hallway, companionway or corridor.
